Blue – Azul

January 22, 2013

After so much time spent chopping leaves and boiling berries, discovering synthetic dyes is like finding out magic actually exists….

The acid dye is from Maiwa Supply (Vancouver, B.C.). I first dyed a mini-skein of Cascades 220 (100% wool). The colour was absolutely gorgeous, a deep turquoise blue. I then used the leftover dye in the water on a couple of washed merino wool locks (with some lanolin on them still) and a tiny bit of handspun.
