Dip-Dyeing with Fig Leaves and Blackberries – Tingir com Folhas de Figueira e Amoras

September 19, 2012

Decided to take things one step further. After dyeing a skein of handspun merino with fig leaves (2:1 of wool – ratio) and getting a nice moderate yellow I made a very concentrated blackberry dyebath enriched with alumn for fixation. Then I got the skein “dripping” into the pot, hanging from the wooden spoons placed across the top of the pot. Awesomeness ensued.
